About the Authors

I’m an Aries, born & raised less than an hour away from the Finger Lakes region, in a small town called Waverly.  I’ve witnessed the growth of our region as a tourist destination and the ever-changing landscape of the wine country.  My father’s family had a property on Keuka Lake until it was sold in the late 80’s, making Seneca our “Go-To “choice for a hot summer day at the lake.  

Upon returning to the area after attending the University of Pittsburgh, I easily came to love the burgeoning wine & beer industry around the lakes.  My 20’s provided an education in all the sweet wines of the region through attending annual events like the Elmira Jackal’s Arena “Wine on Ice” and W.G.I.S.’s “Summer WineFest”, along with countless friend’s birthday wine tours.  While I can’t drink sweet stuff much anymore, I can confidently direct guests where to find the good ones.

While running the front of the house in an Italian restaurant for 4 years, my tastes shifted to dry wines, particularly Reds.  I gained a great knowledge of pairing wines with specific dishes that truly enhanced the enjoyment of the meal.  Which parlayed me into a job with a local Wine & Spirits Distributor.

I have come to call Watkins Glen home and have now been the property manager at Single Island Shores, located on the Southeast side of Seneca lake, for the past 10 seasons.
